lyrics
My pocket book was empty, My heart was full of pain, One thousand miles away from home, Bummin' a railroad train, Lord God help me, Standin on that platform, Smokin a big cigar, Waitin' for that next freight train, To carry an empty car, Good mornin mister railroad man, what time does your train roll by, well 9:16 2:44 twenty-five minutes till five, Lord God help me, 9:16 2:44 twenty-five minutes till five, thank you mister railroad man, Gonna watch your train roll by, I got off at Danville, got stuck on a Danville girl, you can bet your life, she was out of sight, she wore that Danville curl, Wore her hair on the back of her head, just like high tone people do, that very next day on that old freight train, I bid that girl adieu, pull my cap down over my eyes, when I'm walkin down that track, I will get on to that old freight train, well I never will look back, Lord God help me, pull my cap down over my eyes, when I'm walkin down that track, I will get on to that old freight train, well I never will look back!
fell into Days n' Daze when I was travelling, thanks to some of my road dogs. I don't have that freedom anymore but I feel a piece of it Everytime I listen to their music. love y'all! thefool309
As much as I like the current line up, I do miss the dynamic that Marissa's voice added to the band. Plus, she's one of the better washboard players out there. Terry Aston
EklektikTrip
Australian shambolic pop that uses the generic trope of deadpan ennui to evoke bleak dystopia rather than the usual sunny slacker world. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jul 6, 2016
Specializing in bright, sunny "bedroom rock español," this Brooklyn singer-songwriter puts a unique spin on lo-fi music. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2024
The Taxpayers were able to put down a tacklist of songs that allow us to go on a journey. In this album we experience the manic highs and lows one may experience in a life long battle with deteriorating mental health. The picture at times grim and beautiful is one I continually come back to as its tragedy never fades. Ulysses Johnson
